Who we are

DaebakDaily is an independent Korean entertainment website run by Huzaifa. This policy covers daebakdaily.com, its articles, drama discovery tools and community features. For privacy questions or requests, email contact@daebakdaily.com.

Information we handle

• Account details: your email address, username or display name, password hash, registration details and verification status. WordPress stores a password hash rather than a readable password. Verification and password-reset records help protect access.
• Your choices: profile information and an avatar you supply; saved articles; watchlists, episode progress and drama preferences; notification choices; and any newsletter permission you give or withdraw.
• Participation: topics, replies, comments, ratings, poll responses, likes, follows, reports and related moderation records. Stars, levels and achievements are derived from supported account activity.
• Messages to us: the information you provide in support emails, corrections, rights requests or other correspondence.
• Technical information: IP address, browser/device details, request times, accessed pages and security or error records can be processed by WordPress, hosting and enabled services. The member plugin also uses limited abuse-prevention records and optional aggregate activity counters.

Provide only information relevant to your request or participation. Do not send passwords, verification codes, sensitive identity documents or another person's private details in public posts.

Why we use information

We use account information to register and authenticate members, send essential verification and password-reset emails, save requested preferences and show personal activity. Contributions support discussions, voting and moderation. Technical information helps deliver pages, troubleshoot errors and reduce spam or abuse.

Drama suggestions may use preferences, saved activity and available drama classifications to identify possible matches. A match score is a taste comparison, not a factual rating or a guarantee that you will enjoy a show. These recommendations do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

Where applicable data-protection law requires a legal basis, requested account services are provided to perform our agreement with you; security, moderation and responding to enquiries rely on legitimate interests in operating a safe website; optional marketing and non-essential tracking rely on consent where required; and some records may be kept to meet legal obligations. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests.

What other people can see

Your display name, avatar and published contributions can appear publicly beside discussions or comments and may be indexed by search engines. Public ratings or poll totals can be displayed without exposing individual account details. Your account dashboard, email address, private preferences and personal lists are not intended to be public merely because you created an account. Authorized site administrators can access information needed to operate and support the service.

Think carefully before including personal information in a post or profile name. Public material can be copied or cached by others, and we cannot directly remove copies held by unrelated websites.

Account emails and newsletter choices

Account verification, password resets and necessary service messages are separate from optional promotional messages. Creating an account does not by itself subscribe you to a newsletter. If you opt in, we record that choice. You can change it in available account preferences or email us. If newsletters are sent, they will include a way to unsubscribe. Stopping marketing does not prevent essential account or security emails.

Services, cookies and advertising

The site uses WordPress and supporting hosting, storage, backup and email-delivery services to operate. Service providers may process information needed for those tasks. If Cloudflare Turnstile is enabled on a form, it processes technical signals to detect automated abuse; see Cloudflare's privacy policy. Links or embedded media from other services are subject to those services' own privacy practices.

Google tags are installed on the site through Site Kit. Depending on the connected products, configuration and your consent choices, Google services can receive usage information for measurement or advertising. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from partner sites. Installing a tag does not mean every visitor receives an advertisement.

Where Google AdSense ads are served, Google and other third-party advertising vendors may use cookies to serve ads based on previous visits to this or other websites. Google's advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to personalize ads based on those visits. You can manage Google personalized advertising through My Ad Center and find participating industry opt-out choices at AboutAds. The site's consent message, where displayed, identifies enabled advertising partners and provides applicable choices.

Sharing and international processing

In addition to necessary service providers and public contributions, information may be disclosed to meet valid legal requirements, protect people or investigate misuse. Marketing consent is not permission to publish your email address. Providers may process data in countries other than where you live. Applicable transfer protections depend on the provider and service arrangement; contact us for information about arrangements relevant to your data.

How long information is kept

Account and saved-feature information is kept while needed to provide your account or handle a deletion request. Verification records are temporary. The member platform schedules removal of notifications older than 90 days and aggregate counters older than 180 days; completion depends on background jobs running. Hosting logs, backups, consent evidence, support correspondence and moderation records have separate retention needs based on security, recovery, unresolved requests and applicable obligations.

Deleting an account can remove associated private platform records while leaving public conversation text with anonymous attribution. If a retained contribution identifies you, include its URL in a removal request. Data in backups may remain until those backups are replaced or expire and is not ordinarily used as a live account.

Your choices and rights

You can browse as a guest, update available profile settings, change newsletter preferences and request help with access, correction, export or deletion by emailing us from your account email address. We may need proportionate verification before acting on a request. Do not send your password or one-time code.

Depending on your location and the law that applies, you may also have rights to restrict processing, object, receive portable data or complain to your local data-protection authority. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. If a request cannot be fully fulfilled, we will explain the applicable reason.

Children and account use

DaebakDaily is not directed to children under 13. Do not create an account if you are under 13 or below the minimum age required for your circumstances. Where parental permission is legally required, obtain it before participating. If you believe a child has supplied personal information contrary to this policy, contact us so we can review and address it.

Security and policy changes

We use access controls and technical safeguards appropriate to the service, but no website or email system can guarantee complete security. We update this policy when practices change and show the revision date above. Material changes requiring a new choice or consent will be handled as required by applicable law.
