A convenience-store shift paying fifty times the minimum hourly wage sounds like the answer to Hyeok-jun’s debt. Then he discovers what the employer expects him to survive. Dead-End Job builds its horror around an uncomfortable temptation: when ordinary work can’t get you out of trouble, how suspicious does an offer have to be before you refuse it?
Lee Jae-wook plays Hyeok-jun, a young man recruited through the mysterious Spider Staffing Agency. The money is extraordinary, but the agency insists that whatever happens at work must stay secret. Its boss, Mr. S, played by Lee Hee-jun, knows how to make that arrangement sound attractive. The frightening part of this setup is how little financial breathing room Hyeok-jun has before the supernatural trouble even starts.
The Dead-End Job cast also includes Go Min-si, credited by Netflix as Ko Min-si, as Yeon-joo. She’s an investigator pursuing the truth behind the agency’s disturbing activities. That gives the premise a second point of interest: someone is trying to understand the machinery behind these jobs while Hyeok-jun is caught inside it. How much she knows, and what the agency is concealing, are questions the setup invites you to follow.
Kim Min-ha plays Ji-yoon, Hyeok-jun’s younger sister. Her practical attitude toward poverty gives the sibling relationship a sharp edge. A ghost is frightening, but bills don’t disappear when the haunting stops. For me, that collision between everyday money worries and impossible dangers is the strongest reason to put this drama on the watchlist.
The promotional footage points toward strange encounters, threatening workplaces and survival horror. A routine convenience-store assignment becomes a place Hyeok-jun may not leave alive. The appeal is easy to grasp if you like supernatural mysteries rooted in recognizable places: the setting doesn’t need a remote mansion to feel dangerous. A shift you accepted because you needed cash can do the job.
Known in Korean as 꿀알바 and previously announced as Perfect Job, this eight-episode series is directed by Kim Da-min, with Han Jun-hee serving as creator. Netflix has announced an October 30, 2026 streaming premiere. This is a preview profile based on the confirmed premise and promotional material, so an exact pickup episode, sustained pacing verdict and ending classification aren’t established here. For adaptation questions, see our Dead-End Job source-story guide.
Try it if an investigation into sinister employment, a desperate protagonist and unsettling supernatural events sound like your kind of evening. If you’re choosing mainly for a central romance or a reassuring finish, the available information doesn’t establish either. The teaser can help you judge your tolerance for the horror imagery; it can’t tell you how the full season holds together.
The casting makes the central bargain especially interesting: Lee Jae-wook carries Hyeok-jun’s need for a way out, while Lee Hee-jun’s Mr. S controls access to the offer. The question worth keeping is how long Hyeok-jun can afford to keep saying yes.
