All of Us Are Dead Season 2 Release Date: What Netflix Has Confirmed.

By Huzaifa | Updated october 2st, 2026

The All of Us Are Dead season 2 release date remains unannounced by Netflix as of October 1, 2026. Recent reporting points toward an early 2027 return, but there’s no confirmed premiere day. The sequel is happening, the four central stars are returning, and the next outbreak moves to Seoul.

That’s the answer. You shouldn’t have to scroll through six paragraphs of zombie puns to find it.

The frustrating part is that there’s real news underneath all the recycled countdowns. On-jo has a new life, the story has moved beyond Hyosan High, and Cheong-san’s inclusion in the returning cast changes the conversation completely. There’s plenty to discuss without pretending Netflix has handed us a calendar date.

Here’s where things stand:

QuestionCurrent answer
Is season 2 confirmed?Yes. Netflix renewed it in June 2022.
When is it coming?Early 2027 is reported; the exact date is unannounced.
Has filming finished?February wrap reports indicate that shooting has finished.
Where will it stream?Netflix.
Where is the new outbreak?Seoul, with On-jo now attending university.

All of Us Are Dead Season 2 Release Date: Is 2027 Official?

2027 is the reported release year, but the Netflix announcements checked for this article do not confirm a premiere date or window. That distinction matters when you’re deciding which update to trust.

A September 6 News1 report, carried by Financial News, described the season as scheduled for the first half of 2027. September reporting from What’s on Netflix narrowed its expected timing to January–February. Those reports support looking toward next year, but neither should be rewritten as “Netflix confirms January.”

There’s also a fan theory about January 28, the anniversary of season 1’s debut. It’s a neat idea. It’s still a theory.

My advice: treat early 2027 as the current expectation and leave the exact day blank. A reported window, a fan prediction and an official announcement answer three different questions. Mixing them together is how a reasonable estimate becomes a fake countdown.

Why Has the Wait Been So Long?

The clearest explanation starts with the timeline. Netflix announced the renewal in June 2022, but its season 2 production announcement arrived in July 2025. That’s a substantial gap before the production update alone.

February reporting then pointed to cast members finishing their shoots. Park Ji-hu’s reported wrap was February 18, while other performers had finished earlier. Those individual dates help explain why different articles give slightly different answers about when filming ended.

“Filming wrapped” also doesn’t mean “ready to stream.” Editing, visual effects, sound and delivery still sit between a shoot and a finished zombie series. The wrap reports indicate progress; they don’t supply a release date.

I understand the impatience. But Netflix hasn’t published a complete explanation covering every year of the gap, so blaming one actor’s schedule or claiming a specific behind-the-scenes crisis would be guesswork.

All of Us Are Dead Season 2 Cast: Who’s Returning?.

All of Us Are Dead Season 2 Official Cast

The confirmed returning leads are Park Ji-hu, Yoon Chan-young, Cho Yi-hyun and Lomon. Netflix’s casting announcement also introduces four newcomers with named roles.

ActorCharacterConnection to the story
Park Ji-huNam On-joHyosan survivor, now a university student
Yoon Chan-youngLee Cheong-sanReturning central character
Cho Yi-hyunChoi Nam-raReturning half-zombie survivor
LomonLee Su-hyeokReturning Hyosan survivor
Lee Min-jaeYong Ma-ruPart of On-jo’s university circle
Kim Si-eunSo Ju-ranPart of On-jo’s university circle
Yoon Ga-iLee Jong-ahPart of On-jo’s university circle
Roh Jae-wonHan Doo-seokNational Intelligence Service team leader

Keeping the original four gives the sequel an emotional foundation. My concern is how much time the new ensemble leaves for them. After this wait, I want proper conversations between these characters, especially the ones who never got a clean goodbye.

The Seoul Setting Could Make On-jo More Interesting

According to Netflix’s official season 2 preview, On-jo is studying at university in Seoul and still dealing with what happened in Hyosan. A fresh outbreak forces her and her university friends into another fight for survival.

That’s a stronger starting point than simply finding another building to trap everyone inside.

My hope is that On-jo’s experience changes the group’s decisions immediately. She knows how quickly a familiar place can become dangerous. Does she act before anyone believes her? Does surviving once make her more decisive, or make every new threat harder to face?

Those are possibilities, not announced scenes. They’re also why the time jump interests me: the sequel can show what survival leaves behind.

There’s a risk, though. A city gives the story more space, but Hyosan High made every locked door feel personal. I want that pressure to survive the move to Seoul.

Is Cheong-san Coming Back? Yes—But the Explanation Is Still Missing

Season 1 spoilers below.

Yoon Chan-young’s return as Cheong-san is part of Netflix’s official casting information. You don’t need a blurry set photo to establish that anymore.

What we still need is the explanation.

Near the end of season 1, Gwi-nam bites Cheong-san. Cheong-san draws the zombies away from his friends, fights Gwi-nam, and falls with him into the elevator shaft as the bombing engulfs the building. That sequence is why his return raises more questions than an ordinary cast announcement.

The published season 2 synopsis also places Cheong-san among the characters dealing with the outbreak’s aftermath. That gives us more to work with than his actor’s name on a poster, but it doesn’t reveal his condition or how the story gets there.

I want him back. I also want the explanation to respect his sacrifice. If season 2 simply waves away the cost of that goodbye, the reunion loses half its power.

Nam-ra’s Rooftop Scene Is Still the Thread I Care About Most

Cheong-san understandably dominates the return discussion. Nam-ra is the character whose next chapter interests me most.

In the finale, the survivors return to Hyosan High and find her on the rooftop. She tells them there are others like her, then jumps down after sensing them nearby. Netflix’s season 1 ending breakdown also identifies that moment as the reveal that her powers remain intact.

For me, the scene opens up the show’s best unresolved problem: what happens to someone who can still love her friends but can’t safely return to their everyday world?

A sequel could get plenty of action out of her abilities. I’d rather it also spend time on the choices those abilities force her to make. Who gets her loyalty when the people she grew up with fear the people she now resembles?

That’s my reading of the setup, not a confirmed season 2 storyline. It’s a reason to care beyond the next chase scene.

Is There an Official Season 2 Trailer?

Netflix has released official announcement material, including the cast and table-read preview. I couldn’t verify a full story trailer carrying a confirmed premiere date in the official sources checked for this update.

If you’ve been searching “AOUAD 2 Netflix,” you’ve probably noticed how easily announcement clips and fan-made concepts end up beside each other. Some concept videos openly identify themselves as fan-made in their descriptions, even when the thumbnail looks convincing.

Check who uploaded the video and read its description before treating its footage or date as news. A Netflix logo inside an image proves very little by itself.

The same applies to an All of Us Are Dead season 2 release date countdown: without an announced day to count toward, it’s counting toward somebody’s guess. Save the excitement for an upload that can actually support what it promises.

Where to Watch—and What About the Episode Count?

Season 2 is a Netflix series. The official All of Us Are Dead page currently lists the first season, which you can revisit while waiting for the sequel.

Season 1 has 12 episodes. Some reporting also lists 12 for season 2, but I couldn’t verify that number in the official season 2 announcements reviewed. I’d leave the new episode count unconfirmed for now.

This has become a surprisingly messy part of the discussion. In one September Reddit thread, a viewer shared a search-result snippet apparently mentioning seven episodes and an October 1 release. The poster explicitly said they weren’t claiming the date was confirmed. That screenshot is evidence of a confusing search result, not a reliable episode guide.

For the wider streaming picture, DaebakDaily’s guide to legal Korean drama streaming sites covers the platforms worth knowing. For this particular sequel, Netflix is the destination.

The Fandom Is Still Interested—and Very Tired

A September discussion on r/AllOfUsAreDead captures the mood well. Some commenters were working through early-2027 predictions; others kept turning the show’s title into a joke about dying before the next season arrives.

Underneath that joke is a fair complaint: it’s difficult to keep the same emotional momentum across years of waiting. One commenter could barely remember the rooftop ending, while others were still debating the possibility of a holiday release. That’s one discussion, not a survey of the whole fandom, but the split feels telling.

I’m on the side that still cares. I just don’t think a larger outbreak automatically makes a better season.

The All of Us Are Dead season 2 release date will get people to press play. What will keep me watching is whether On-jo’s grief, Cheong-san’s return and Nam-ra’s unfinished story receive the attention they deserve.

Which reunion matters more to you: On-jo and Cheong-san, or Nam-ra and Su-hyeok—and what would make that scene worth the wait?
